Managing Psychotropic Medications for Children in FosterCare: Classroom Training
When Florida’s child welfare agency was faced with the tragic death of a child in foster care whose adverse reaction to psychotropic medication was not recognized by caregivers involved, the agency made major changes to its supervision policies. In turn, the agency contracted with Red Hills Principal Robin Colson to develop the related training. The training was successfully developed and delivered within 120 days to thousands of child welfare staff statewide, immediately implementing significant improvements for these most vulnerable children.
